Two day
training course on "ADME, PK/TK, and Drug Metabolism
in Drug Discovery and Development". This course will
be on the 22nd and 23rd of January 2008. As the class
size will be limited, early registration is highly
recommended.
The Training will be
followed by our 3rd Annual International Conference on
"Predictive Human Toxicity and ADME/TOX
Studies" which is scheduled for the 24th and 25th of
January 2008 in Brussels, Belgium. Participants to the
training course may attend the Conference Gratis.

Facharztausbildung
The European
Summer School for Whole Animal Pharmacology (ESSWAP) organizes
its fourth course on behavioural pharmacology to June
15-20, 2008. The course is set up
specifically for bio-scientists who want to expand their
understanding of behavioural pharmacology as the ultimate
level of integrative phenotyping, to acquire the
knowledge and necessary skills for the good conduct of
behavioural experiments, and to soundly extrapolate their
data to clinical pharmacology.

The Tenth
Advanced Level Workshop on
Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic Data analysis (a 4 day
hands-on course using WinNonlin), 18-22 May 2008,
Madingley Hall, Cambridge, UK
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the
Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences are pleased to
announce this advanced workshop, which provides an
interface between the computer analysis of PK and PD data
and physiological concepts. Steady-state, link, receptor
on/off and turnover (indirect response) models. Modelling
reversible and irreversible responses. Functional
adaptation, tolerance and rebound. Disease models.
Multiple dose and subjects PD data. Dichotomous data.
Based on the background and concepts provided by the
course lecturers, delegates will apply this information
during hands-on sessions. A unique feature of the course
is the access to the computer package to undertake
hands-on exercises on real-life case studies and
availability of course tutors to help in problem solving.
The course will be led by Dr Johan Gabriesson, Senior
Principle Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal and
Dr Dan Weiner, Senior Vice President, Pharsight Corp. The
course leaders are authors of the highly popular 4th
edition of PKPD Data Analysis: Concepts and Applications,
Swedish Pharmaceutical Press, 2006.
